Maastricht - The polyurethane industry's major exhibition and conference for 2012, UTECH Europe 2012, opens today at the MECC in Maastricht, The Netherlands, with organiser Crain Communications Ltd expecting a high turnout, judging by the online pre-registration figures.
The three-day event, 17-19 April, features a major polyurethanes conference, with the opening session on 17 April seeing Jiansheng Ding, chairman of Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes Co Ltd China, giving a keynote presentation on a subject of consuming interest to all involved with the industry: the next phase in the development of China's PU industry and its global impact.
"The future of China's polyurethanes industry will not be as exciting as the recent past, but there are still major opportunities for growth and development as markets mature and economic advancement spreads further across our vast nation," Ding predicts.
Global market trends and the latest technical, legislative and commercial innovations in polyurethanes technology will be the focus at the event, with major supplier groups, including Bayer, BASF, Dow, Huntsman, Cannon and Evonik discussing the development of the key raw materials and processing equipment used to make these versatile materials.
These papers are part of UTECH Europe' 2012's focus on celebrating an historic date -- this year sees the 75th anniversary of Otto Bayer's initial patent on polyurethanes.
This year's UTECH exhibition and conference promises to be a vibrant and informative event, where polyurethane experts from all parts of the world will meet up to do business, greet friends and colleagues in the industry, and make new contacts for the future.
Over 100 companies are exhibiting at the sell-out show, and the three-day international event promises to offer a comprehensive overview of the latest technical and commercial trends in the sector.
Preregistration online is now closed, but those wishing to attend can register on site. For more information on the event, see www.utecheurope.eu
