Rickmansworth, UK - Stepan Co. has announced the promotion of Roger Stubbs to the position of vice president - European Polymers. Stubbs will continue to have profit and loss responsibility for Stepan's European Polymers business, a 22 Feb company announcement said.
Since joining the business, Stubbs has built Stepan's European Polymers operations into the leading European manufacturer of aromatic polyester polyols under the Stepanpol brand name. Stepanpol polyols are used in the manufacture of polyurethane and polyisocyanaurate rigid foams for insulation applications and for the formulation of PU systems used in coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers.
Stubbs joined Stepan in 1997 as business manager - European Polymers, and became director of this business in 2003. Before that he spent five years with Brenntag in sales and marketing roles, after four years in technical sales with Union Carbide.
Stubbs, who is also managing director of Stepan Deutschland, the manufacturing unit that produces Stepanpol polyester polyols for the European market, will continue to report to Bob Wood, vice president and general manager of Stepan's global polymers business.
