By Liz White, UT staffArdsley, New York-Supresta has announced that it is raising prices on a series of its phosphorus-based flame retardants, as well as other additives, from 1 July. The move comes in response to growing production and distribution costs, the New York based firm said. The price increases are as follows:Fyrol PCF-$0.05 per lbFyrol FR2, Fyrol 38, & Fyrol FRW-$0.05 per lbPhosflex Plasticizers-$0.15 per lbPhosflex 4 (Tri-butyl phosphate)-$0.08 per lbFyrolflex-$0.15 per lbFyrquel-$0.10 per lbSyn-O-Ad-$0.10 per lbVictawet-$0.30 per lbPhosphorous Trichloride & Oxytrichloride-$0.05 per lb"During the past several months, the costs of phosphorus and petroleum-based raw materials-which Supresta depends upon for the production of many of our products-have steadily risen, and the availability of some raw materials is scarce," commented Supresta vice president for global marketing Roger Woolley. Costs associated with packaging, energy, and product distribution have also escalated, adding to the pressure which has forced Supresta to raise prices, the firm said."
