Mesa, Arizona - SWD Urethane has launched a new closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (SPF) product for low-temperature applications, the company said 10 Dec.
SWD Quik-Shield 112, which meets ASTM E-84 fire standards, is a PU formulation that can be applied to substrates with temperatures as low as 28 deg F, and is "ideal for SPF insulation contractors who are seeking to extend their insulation season," SWD said. The product also recently passed AC 377-NFPA 286 Appendix x without ignition barrier, "which eliminates significant costs for attics and crawl space areas, the statement added.
SWD said the product contains no urea formaldahyde, CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) or HCFCs (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) and is a low-VOC (volatile organic compound) material with more than 15 percent renewable content.
"SWD Quik-Shield is a great addition to the full line of SWD polyurethane products, it will definitely help any insulator extend their production this winter," said SWD president Jim Perkins. (RD)
