Detroit, Michigan -- Many of the weight-saving applications of plastics in vehicles are not aesthetic or attractive. They don't add curves to fenders or involve sleek glazing in windows or skylights. Some of the more significant advances occur in unseen structural applications or under the hood.
A three-person panel at 7-9 Nov Plastics in Lightweight & Electric Vehicles 2011 will explore how plastics are being used under the hood in electric, hybrid and internal-combustion-engine vehicles to help to take off pounds without sacrificing performance.
Jim Cederstrom, automotive business development manager of Bulk Molding Compounds Inc, will team up with Mike Day, North American marketing director for DuPont Automotive's Performance Materials, and Chuck Reardon, commercial vice president for Dow Kokam llc in the session.
This Plastics News Global Group conference takes place in Livonia, Michigan. Register by 14 Oct and save $100. For more programme details, go to www.autolightweighting.com.
