Andrezieux, France - Saira Seats, which makes specialist railway seating, lost a day of production at its factory in Andrezieux, the Loire, following a spill of 20 litres of TDI (toluene diisocyanate).
The spill on 30 Jan 2013 happened at about 07:30, according to a company spokesman. It was dealt with successfully by staff in the factory, but the fire brigade was called and the factory closed for a day to ensure that it was safe to continue production.
Office workers waited in the car park until given the go-ahead to start work at 10 am on 30 Jan. There were no injuries.
