By David Reed, UT EditorOtterup, Denmark-Tectrade A/S and Suomen Tectrade Oy, leading manufacturers and suppliers of raw material systems for rigid polyurethane foam to the Nordic markets, are rebranding their products to come into line with their owner and main supplier, Bayer MaterialScience AG of Leverkusen, Germany.By the end of the year, the firms intend to have all of their polyol systems and products designated as Tecphen, thus "strengthening the link with the Bayer Group and its globally well-known brand 'Desmophen' for the base polyols," a 24 August statement explained. The transition will take place successively and Tecphen will emerge in all documents before year end, the statement added. The firms have production sites and technical development resources in Denmark and Finland, providing PU and polyisocyanurate systems for making rigid foam products. These yield light-weight products with excellent thermal insulation, the firm claims, adding that they are widely used in self-supporting constructions as well as in making discontinuous panels and insulation for refrigerators, pipes and boilers. Other systems are use to make spray foam systems and rigid block foams."
