Wayne, Pennsylvania – Tekni-Plex has acquired Dunn Industries, which makes speciality extruded tubing for medical device applications.
Dunn is based in Manchester, New Hampshire. It makes tight tolerance, small diameter medical device tubing from a variety of thermoplastic materials. Applications include single lumen catheters for drainage. The firm also makes complex multi-lumen products for coronary angioplasty. A range of tubing products can be used in drug delivery devices.
Tekni-Plex says the acquisition will augment the non-PVC materials in its portfolio. These include: polyurethane, PEEK, acetyl, nylon, EVA and TPEs.
Tekni-Plex owns Colorite medical compounds and Natvar medical tubing business. Its president, Paul Young said he wants to make more, different products and expand manufacturing.
