Lexington, Kentucky -- Tempur-Pedic International Inc. has unveiled its newest collection of mattresses called Tempur-Simplicity, the bedding products company said in a 30 Jan news release.
The new three-item line is "surprisingly affordable," Tempur said, with a queen bed flat set retailing at $1499.
The collection features three mattresses: firm, medium and soft. Each mattress features the latest formulation of the company's Tempur-Essential material, which the mattress maker says provides "the pressure-relieving comfort and contouring support that traditional spring mattresses lack."
"This launch greatly expands Tempur-Pedic's business potential in the category by doubling the size of our addressable market," said Chad Colony, senior vice president of US sales for Tempur-Pedic.
He added, "We expect the collection to further accelerate the market shift from spring mattresses to consumer-preferred non-spring mattresses and raise the average unit selling price and profitability for the entire market."
The introduction follows almost two years of consumer research and product development, including more than 2500 consumer prototype evaluations.
