Lexington, Kentucky - Mattress and pillow maker Tempur-Pedic International Inc. has appointed Mark Sarvary, currently an industrial partner with global private equity firm CVC Capital Partners, as chief executive officer and president.
Sarvary succeeds Thomas Bryant, who will retire from the role on 4 Aug 2008. Sarvary will work with Bryant in the interim to ensure a smooth transition, said Tempur-Pedic's 1 July announcement.
"Mark Sarvary is exceptionally well-qualified for the ceo role and has the ability and experience to lead Tempur-Pedic beyond the $1000 million sales level into its next phase of growth and development," commented Tempur-Pedic chairman, Andrews McLane, in the statement.
McLane praised Sarvary's track record of driving sales and earnings growth, and said "He also understands the value of brands …. [and] is an accomplished business leader who brings a great breadth of skills in sales, marketing, product innovation, strategy and operations."
