Lexington, Kentucky — Tempur Sealy, which makes polyurethane foam and conventional mattresses, had sales up 9% at $1.41 bn the first half of 2019.
Tempur Sealy sales grow 9% in H1 2019

Gross profit across the business rose by 10.7% to $595.2m in the first half of 2019.
The company discussed the second quarter segment performance in its SEC filing.
Looking at business in the Americas in the second quarter, sales rose by 11.42% compared with the 2018 period, reaching $588.1m in the second quarter of 2019. This compares with $527.8m in the 2018 period.
Gross profit in the division increased by 17.99% to $240m in the second quarter of 2019. This compares with $203.4m the 2018 period.
The company's international (Q2) business sales grew by 1.97% between the second quarter of 2019; they reached $134.7m. This compares with $132.1m in the second quarter of 2018.
Gross profit in the division rose by 5.76% to $73.4m the second quarter of 2019. This compares with $69.4m in the second quarter of 2018.
CEO Scott Thompson said: 'Our strong momentum from the first quarter continued into the second quarter. Our North America operations had a stand-out quarter, driven by our new Breeze line of mattresses and 78% growth in our direct to consumer channel.'
