Dormagen, Germany - Lanxess, the German polymer firm, said that the Tepex product line it acquired last year as part of it's purchase of German processor Bond Laminates GmbH has helped German soccer stars.
A layer of Tepex, a thermoplastic polyurethane,is used in some makes of football boots. Lanxess said Half of the goals scored on the recent Euro 2012 soccer tournament were scored by players using boots made with Tepex.
"Our focus is to bring Tepex sheet into mass-product applications," Lanxess executive Martin Wanders said.
