New Canaan, Connecticut – Thermoseal has received its third-party evaluation report CCRR#1095 on its Appendix X-approved Flameguard 500 fire-safe spray foam. The foam is compliant for attics and crawl spaces that no longer require an ignition barrier.
Thermoseal’s objective when developing the foam was to create a high-quality, easy-to-spray fire-resistant foam. Flameguard has a high yield and high R value, and is easy to install, and the company claims it has virtually no odour, in contrast to competitor fire-resistant low-density foams.
‘With the rapid and ongoing changes in today’s building codes it is important to offer a fire safe foam without the need to coat the foam with an ignition barrier in attics and crawl spaces,’ said Richard Ettinger, Thermoseal’s general manager.
‘While a few competitors have introduced ignition barrier free products, the consensus is that none are of very high quality or easy to install. We are extremely excited about the launch of Flameguard. Its performance, safety and physical properties are the best in the industry,’ he added.
