Chesterfield, UK - TMAT, a manufacturer of acoustic components for tractors and excavators, has reported that its sales are up 6% in the first half of 2013, outstripping the 1% improvement in sales across UK manufacturing as a whole. TMAT's gross profit for the period was up 10%.
The company produces polyurethane-based acoustic components. It said these figures suggest that is faring six times better than the average UK manufacturing business, despite operating in markets - such as construction - that are "still essentially flat".
Jason Lippitt, managing director of TMAT, said: "We were naturally really buoyed by the news that UK manufacturing is enjoying significant improvement after an extended difficult period. But to find from the six-month report that we are performing six times better was just fantastic."
He added that there were still difficult times ahead, but that the company would continue to keep working hard to ensure good returns.
TMAT engineers solutions to noise, vibration and harshness for agricultural, construction, and earthmoving markets, including the STW 100 polyurethane system used to create a honeycomb-shaped elastomer floormat.
