Speaking on the fringes of the Automotive Polyurethanes for Performance and Profit conference in Amsterdam, Kenichiro Ohnishi, global business manager, said that the plant in Shunan, Yamaguchi Prefecture, would be on time and there has been interest in trialling the material with a number of potential customers.
He added that Tosoh's strategy was to produce a catalyst with strong gelling characteristics which meets the automotive industry's demand for very low emissions of formaldehyde and acetaldehydes and which helps foams meet the strict VDA 278 test.
