Tokyo, Japan – Toyochem has introduced a new series of biodegradable pressure sensitive adhesives. The polyurethane-based Cyabine adhesives are designed for packaging, construction, agriculture, and other industries where biodegradable materials are favoured.
The adhesives have a biomass content on a dry weight basis of up to 45%. Waste adhesive can be digested by soil microorganisms, with biodegradation rates of at least 60% after 60 days.
They have initially been made available in Japan, and the company is planning worldwide release in the future.
