Tokyo, Japan – A new series of ultra-high solids polyurethane pressure-sensitive adhesives has been added to Toyochem’s Cyabine range. The adhesives have a solids content of more than 99%.
The company claims the adhesives have the same performance levels as conventional solvent-based pressure-sensitive adhesives. These include transparency, reworkability and air release properties. Industrial applications include protective films.
Normally, increasing the solids content of an adhesive also increases its viscosity, making it more difficult to coat. The ultra-high solids formulation was made possible by in-house research into new synthesis and crosslinking methods.
Initially launched in Japan, the company plans to roll the adhesives out worldwide in the future.
