By David Reed, UT EditorGlen Ellyn, Illinois-The Thermoset Resin Formulators Association (TRFA)-which claims to be the only organisation serving the sector-is offering a 'trial' membership at just a quarter of the full fee for the rest of 2005. The move will give company representatives a chance to attend the 2005 Annual Meeting in New Orleans at the member rate and experience the value of membership, a 10 Aug. statement from the TRFA's Board of Directors said. The meeting takes place 13-15 Nov. at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana, and the offer will yield savings of at least $200 for first- and second-time attendees, and $500 for attendees registering for their third annual meeting, the TRFA statement indicated. These savings are compounded when multiple attendees from more than one company register for the annual meeting, the statement added.Scott Harvey, vice president of sales at Chemroy Canada, Inc. of Brampton, Ontario, will chair the event, which will comprisethe presentation of 13 technical papers and the third annual suppliers table-top showcase, taking place on Monday 14 Nov, in conjunction with the meeting. TRFA membership is open to all involved in the sector, including formulators, raw material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, consulting firms and academic institutions. These members serve a wide range of industries such as adhesives, coatings, civil engineering applications, electrical laminates, composites, tooling, castings and mouldings. The board believes that, once 'sampled', industry leaders will see the many benefits of TRFA membership and choose to maintain that industry relationship in the future. To learn more about TRFA and the trial membership offer, visit the website at www.trfa.org or contact the association at (630) 942-6596."
