Skopje, North Macedonia — Turkish sandwich panel specialist Teknopanel is to invest about €20m in a new production facility in North Macedonia. The factory’s output will include sandwich panels made using PU and PIR, and EPS products.
General manager Orhan Kahveci told Turkish news site STendustri.com.tr that the new plant will be opened in the free zone located within the country’s capital, Skopje.
‘Our fifth production facility which is currently under construction will have a total area of 55,000m2 square metres, of which 16,000 m2 will be closed,’ he said. ‘It will be the first and only factory to produce sandwich panels and EPS products in North Macedonia.’
He added that the company’s priority for the new factory is to produce energy-efficient products. It should boost export sales in European markets.
‘We aim to increase our exports to the Balkans from 650,000m2 to 2.5 million m2 per year for sandwich panels, and to 250,000m3 per year for EPS products,’ Kahveci said.
Teknopanel exports its products to 102 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, as well as North and South America, according to data from the Turkish firm. Its brands include Teknopanel Sandwich Panels, Deltapan, Teknopor EPS Products, and Teknosistem Exterior Thermal Insulation Systems.
The company is based in Mersin in the south of Turkey, where it opened its first production facility in June 2005. It owns three further plants in Turkey, located in Sakarya, Izmir and Istanbul. Its total output is 123,000m2, and it has 480 employees.
