Walton-on-Trent, England -- A new class of sustainable bio-renewable foams developed by Natural Foams Technology is the first polyurethane foam to win US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Bio-preferred approval.
Natural Foams Technology’s product was verified as 53% bio-based following USDA and American Society for Testing and Materials test processes. The bio-composition of Natural Foams Technology’s foam is more than double the federal requirement.
The company's director Jeff Rowlands said he was delighted his firm’s technology is the first to receive Bio-Preferred accreditation: “We are delighted to have been awarded this certification and be the first foam technology to do so.
“It will help raise our profile in the world of bio-renewables and give a boost to those using our technology,” he said.
