Kiev – An anti-dumping tariff has been imposed on flexible polyurethane foam imports into Ukraine for the next three years.
According to a local news report, “the size of the rate will be 13.09% for the first year, 12.44% for the second and 11.81% in the final year,” and applies slabstock as well as blocks and sheets.
The special measures were applicable from May 26, 2016, said the news report.
The move follows a year-long investigation by Ukraine’s Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade which concluded the increase in imports of polyurethane foam goods to Ukraine occurred in 2013-2014, before and during the period when sales and production by domestic producers decreased.
"A continuous growth of imports to Ukraine took place at prices much lower than the prices of goods in the domestic market and lower than their cost," the commission report said.
It added, “low import prices entailed a rapid decline in prices for similar goods of Ukrainian origin.”
