Chiasso, Switzerland – CSS SA, whose activities include the production and installation of polyurethane field joint coatings for marine contractors, is to merge with Italian underwater operations specialist Drafinsub.
The new company, CSS Drafinsub, will have annual sales of €65m. It will offer integrated services for underwater pipelines and infrastructure, including installation and maintenance, and the testing and commissioning of facilities. It will operate in both shallow and deep water.
CSS SA’s CEO Fabio Valentini will become chairman of its holding company. Gianluca Passeri, Drafinsub’s CEO, will become MD. As well as its Swiss HQ, it will have three operating bases in Switzerland, and further bases in Malaysia, the UAE and Mexico.
“This integration propels CSS and Drafinsub’s subsea services into an international dimension, covering the entire spectrum of underwater services in port areas, dam basins and offshore,” said Valentini. “It provides extraction companies with the opportunity to engage with a single point of contact for all aspects related to the construction and management of marine pipelines.”
