Decatur, Alabama - United Foam, a UFP Technologies brand, has made "significant improvements" to quality and processing capabilities at its facility in Alabama, including new equipment, improved material selection, a new floor plan, and becoming ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) compliant, the company said 24 Feb.
The company has expanded upon its current foam fabrication capabilities by purchasing new polyurethane equipment for electronic, industrial, and consumer applications. New contour cutting equipment used to fabricate large shapes out of polyurethane and polyethylene foams has also been added.
United Foam has also reconfigured its entire plant floor at the Alabama facility, which has "improved material flow through the facility; providing faster turnaround time on projects and contributing to a reduction in material waste," the company said. This has resulted in United Foam becoming ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliant. (RD)
