Midland, Michigan — Chemicals distributor, Univar Solutions, has become a key North American distributor for Dow polyols and diisocyanates.
Univar Solutions says that besides its logistics services it offers 'expert-level technical know-how'.
Mark Fisher, is president of Univar Solutions USA. He said the agreement would be a 'value-creating partnership.'
Univar Solutions' would be providing 'formulation expertise in our technical solution centres, as well as through digital tools', he added.
Dow has declined to say whether it will keep key accounts; whether Univar act as a sales aggregation service; or, which company is administering sales .
Dow says that it 'aspires to be the most customer-centred materials science company in the world.'
The company added the agreement is 'very collaborative between Dow, Univar solutions and our 'shared' customers.' It adds that 'this is the collaboration needed to help downstream formulators innovate and grow.'.
Additionally, Dow said that it will not miss out on new innovative uses for its materials. This is because of the 'winning, value creating partnership,' it will be developing with Univar.
