New Canaan, Connecticut -- Spray Foam Polymers, which makes ThermoSeal spray foam insulation and coatings, has launched FlameGuard FG700, a low-density spray foam which is easy to install and has "the safest flame properties in the industry," the company claims.
Spray Foam Polymers' aim was to create a high quality, flame- and smoke-resistant foam which is aesthetically appealing and has virtually no odour.
Compared to its competitors, this new foam had half the smoke and virtually no flame, with better physical properties, the company said.
"With the rapid and ongoing changes in today's building codes it is important to offer a fire-safe foam without the need to coat the foam with an ignition barrier in attics and crawl spaces" said Richard Ettinger, general manager of Spray Foam Polymers, in a company statement.
