Washington, DC – Imports of footwear to the US rose by 25.1% in November 2020 compared with November 2019. At 148.4m units, that is 29.8m more than November 2019.
US footwear imports up 25% in November 2020
So far this year, the US has imported 1.66bn pairs of footwear. By the same time last year, that number stood at 1.76bn units. This is a 5.4% fall.
The biggest source of imports in November was China, which supplied 89.1m pairs. China was followed by Vietnam with 38.3m pairs, Indonesia 6.7m pairs, Cambodia 2.3m pairs, and Mexico with 1.6m pairs.
In total, the top-five sources accounted for 93.0% of all the imports in November. In the first 11 months of 2019, the five largest importers took a 94.8% share.
