Washington, DC – Imports of footwear to the US rose by 61.5% in April 2021, compared with April 2020. At 189.9m units, that is 72.3m more than April 2020.
US footwear imports carried on steady trend in April 2021
So far this year, the US has imported 789m pairs of footwear. By the same time last year, the number stood at 644m units. This is a 22.5% rise.
The biggest source of imports in April was China, which supplied 111.1m pairs. China was followed by Vietnam with 43.5m pairs, Indonesia with 15.7m pairs, Cambodia with 5.1m pairs, and India with 3.0m pairs.
In total, the top five sources of imports accounted for 93.9% of all the imports in April.
