Washington, DC – Imports of footwear to the US rose by 28.1% in February 2022 compared with February 2021. At 238.7m units, this was 52.3m more than February 2021.
US footwear imports grew 28% in February 2022
So far this year, the US has imported 481.5m pairs of footwear. By the same time last year, that number stood at 370.0m units. This is a 30.1% rise.
The biggest source of imports in February was China, which supplied 160.7m pairs. China was followed by Vietnam with 42.0m pairs, Indonesia 10.7m pairs, Cambodia 8.6m pairs, and India with 3.5m pairs.
In total, the top-five sources of imports accounted for 94.5% of all the imports in February. This is marginally more than the 94.4% share recorded in this month last year.
