Washington, DC – Imports of footwear to the US rose by 28.9% in July 2021 compared with July 2020. At 206.8m pairs, that is 46.3m more than July 2020.
US footwear imports grew 28.9% in July
So far this year, the US has imported 1.4bn pairs of footwear. By the same time last year, that number stood at 1bn pairs. This is a 33.7% rise.
The biggest source of imports in July was China, which supplied 128.2m pairs, followed by Vietnam with 51.4m pairs, Indonesia with 8.4m pairs, Cambodia 4.2m pairs, and India with 2.4m pairs.
In total, the top five sources of imports accounted for 94.1% of all the imports in July. This is unchanged from the share they recorded in this month last year.
