Washington, DC – Imports of footwear to the US rose by 20.9% in October 2020 compared with October 2019. At 162.2m units, that is 28.0m more than October 2019.
However, the 10-month cumulative number is down. So far this year, the US has imported 1514m pairs of footwear. By the same time last year, the number stood at 1638m units. This is a 7.6% fall.
The biggest source of imports in October was China, which supplied 106.1m pairs. This was followed by Vietnam with 34.5m pairs, Indonesia 6.6m pairs, Cambodia 3.5m pairs, an, India with 1.8m pairs.
In total, the top-five sources of imports accounted for 94% of all the imports in October.
