Washington, DC – In April 2021 the US imported 1.47m mattresses. This is up by 15%, or 188,000 more than were imported in April 2020.
US mattress imports up again in April 2021
The year-to-date total of mattresses imported to the US is 4.99 m. This is a 15% rise compared with the same timeframe in 2020.
The largest source of imports to the US in April was Indonesia, which provided 334,000 mattresses. Mexico came second with 275,000 units, Vietnam third with 134,000 units and Taiwan fourth, with 119,000 units .
In April 2020, the largest source of imports was Indonesia which supplied 307,000 units. Vietnam with 265,000 units was second. Turkey was third, and accounted for 137,000 units.
In total, the five largest sources of imports accounted for 1.47m units in April 2021.
