Washington, DC – In November 2020 the US imported 820,000 mattresses. This is down by 669,000 on the same month in 2019, a 45% drop.
US mattress imports fell 45% in November 2020
The year-to-date total of mattresses imported to the US is 17.63 m. This is a 42% rise compared with the same time frame in 2019. So far in 2020, the US has imported 4.32m more mattresses.
The largest source of imports to the US in November was Indonesia, which provided 398,000 mattresses. Vietnam came second with 146,000 units, Mexico was third with 144,000 and Turkey fourth, with 102,000 of the November total.
In November 2019, the largest source of imports was Vietnam at 356,000 units. Indonesia was second with 280,000 units. Malaysia was third, and accounted for 154,000 units.
In total, the five largest sources of imports accounted for 1022 ,000 units in November 2020. This is equivalent to 73.0% of the total. In the same month last year, the top five accounted for 68.8% of the total.
