Marquette, Michigan-Major US polyurethane moulder Argonics has expanded in precision castings with its recent purchase of Kryptane Systems llc of Louisville, Colorado. No financial details were released.
Argonics said Kryptane Systems has been a leader in "precision-cast polyurethane products," which includes precision rollers, castors, springs, and agricultural, medical and recreational products.
This purchase will give Argonics a prototyping and hand-casting facility where it can make, "one-off parts‚ prototypes and proof-of-concept parts to current and potential customers" said Bob Airaudi, vice-president of sales and marketing for Argonics, in a 15 June statement. The acquisition also gives Argonics a precision parts division, Airudi added.
"We'll now be able to offer our customers low-volume and hand-cast production parts as well as concept development, mould design, and product implementation with quick turn around," the Argonics executive commented.
Kryptane Systems has a 2000 sq.m facility plus machine shop, tooling and mould department, with three precision pouring machines.
Marquette, Michigan-based Argonics, set up in 1994, claims to be the US industry's largest producer of polyurethane products.
