Washington, DC – In the first nine months of 2020 the US imported 8.26m refrigerators. This is an increase of 3.0m units, or 57%, on the 5.26m units imported in the same period in 2019.
The largest source of imports to the US in the first nine months of the year was China, which provided 1.27 m refrigerators. That country was followed by Thailand with 36,313 units, Mexico with 21,635 units and Turkey with 5,539 units.
In September 2020, the US imported a total of 1.4m refrigerators. This is an increase of 669,000 units, or 97.4%, on the same month last year.
