Washington, DC – In April 2021, the US imported 925,000 refrigerators. This is up by 47%, or 295,000 units more than were imported in April 2020.
US refrigerator imports grew more slowly in April
The year-to-date total of refrigerators imported to the US is 4.25m, a 117% increase on the 2020 period. Thus far in 2021, the US has imported 1.96m more units.
The largest source of imports to the US in April was China, which provided 803,000 refrigerators. Thailand, at 41,800 units ,was the second largest source, then Mexico with a total of 23,700 units. Turkey was fourth, with 17,350 units.
In April 2020, the largest source of imports was also China, with 592,000 units, followed by Mexico, with 11,700. Turkey was in third place, with 7,160 units.
