Upper Hutt, New Zealand -- Polyurethane foam products maker Acma, based in Upper Hutt, New Zealand, is close to licensing the technology for its fire-resistant train seat pads to an American public transport company, according to a report in the Timaru Herald.
The report says the NZ foam products manufacturer has been exporting about 10 000 flame-retardant seats to China every month for use in trains for various Australian states.
The foam has to pass US fire tests, and then may be valuable to US train makers, who only have one US source for FR foam pads, writes Jazial Crossley.
