Maastricht, the Netherlands – The eco-balance of rigid foam for thermal insulation was a key focus of Bayer MaterialScience’s UTECH Europe 2015 stand.
Experts from the company explained the benefits of its technology in the insulation of buildings and the refrigeration of food products. Klaus Steinborn, a BMS stand manager, said: “Rigid polyurethane foam saves up to 70 times more energy than is required to manufacture, use and dispose of it."
Together with its high insulating performance, this results in an eco-balance that compares favourably with other materials.
At the event, BMS also showcased its Microcell system for domestic refrigerators. According to the company, the rigid foam material “improves the insulating performance of the refrigerator by another 10%.”
