Shanghai, China — Metal Engineering took information about its high speed splitting lines along to UTECH Asia 2016. .
The Korean machinery firm has been making 50-60 m splitter/cutting machines since 1995, company president, Kang Chun-Hee said in interview.
Metal Engineering claims to be able to make loopers with a working speed of 130 m/min to 180 m/min speed “without tremble,”
Chun-Hee said. He added that this gives “very good, consistent thickness of the slit layer,” and is in contrast to Chinese machinery “much of which has tremble, because the rollers are often slightly out of balance, which becomes notable at high speed.”
Metal Engineering has sold three of the machines into Indonesia; one into China; and one into Korea in recent years, said Chun-Hee.
Before cutting the glued block may be run at up to 200 m/min to ensure the system is balanced, he explained. The cutting blade is maintained at approximately 30° C to ensure that the accuracy of the cut is maintained. “Thickness is more accurate at high speeds,” he said adding that 200 m/min is the maximum speed of his machine.
