Maastricht, the Netherlands – Cutting machinery company Fecken-Kirfel will outline its new Loop H32 LF band knife splitting machine at UTECH Europe 2018.
UTECH Europe: Fecken-Kirfel to outline new loop splitter

The Loop H32 LF is designed to be operated single handedly and blocks can be changed without stopping the machine. It takes about 30 seconds if the laterally positioned winder is used, the firm said.
This is possible because of a specially designed gluing station, and because the wind-up station can be laterally positioned next to the looper.
The model features a robust frame and automatic band knife re-adjustment. The machine can cut sheets with tolerance +/- 0.1mm with minimal material loss, the firm said.
This machine is stable and can run at speeds of up to 150m/min, Fecken-Kirfel said.
It adds that two winder variations are available for wrinkle-free, edge-precise winding.
The A1 winder is positioned in-line, directly behind the cutting unit. This is for customers that want to use the machine as a long splitting line without gluing the block.
The A1-90 winder is positioned at right angles to the loop. This configuration allows for single-handed block changes without stopping. This means that cut foam is produced without marks, the company said. An optional cut to length system can be installed on the A1-90 winder.
Pierre Schouteten is constructing engineer at the company. He said in single-handed operation, 'part of the transport conveyor is lowered downwards. This creates a passage. The operator can spray the block ends with adhesive at ground level.'
There is no need to mask the transport rolls and operators save a lot of time because they don't have to climb on to the machine to do any of this work, he added.
The firm will also be offering an open house at its Aachen, Germany headquarters with Mammut and Beckmann, which supply the mattress industry, during the show.
UTECH Europe runs between 29-31 May 2108 in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
