Iksan, Korea – Sehotech has developed a new fourth generation blowing agent for polyurethane foams.
UTECH Las Americas: Sehotech unveils new 4th generation blowing agent

Chan-Hong Kang, president at Sehotech, said: 'We have developed a blowing agent that is able to meet international regulations. We have recently started supplying the product.'
The company describes the blowing agent as 'a mixture of trans-1,2-dicholoroethane which is stable in every polyol system and completely soluble in most polyols.'
The clear, colourless liquid, SUF 812ka, has a slightly alcoholic odour. It boils at 26°C at atmospheric pressure, and freezes at -90°C. The material does not have a flash point, and Sehotech said its density is 1270 kg/m3.
In addition, SUF 812ka has zero ozone depletion potential and zero global warming potential, the company added. Its vapour pressure at 20°C is 840 mm hg (112 MPa).
In addition to making blowing agents, the company produces polyester polyols, and metal and amine catalysts. It has been producing these materials since 1986. Sehotech will be exhibiting at UTECH Las Americas, Mexico City 10-12 April, 2019.
