Charlotte, North Carolina -- UTECH North America’s opening day was a “huge success”, organiser Sue Rothwell from Crain Communications Ltd said as the show drew to a close today.
The event, the region’s first UTECH exhibition and conference since 2010, attracted well over 100 exhibitors and hundreds conference goers.
The conference sold out over a week ago. Conference attendees were treated to a keynote speech from Dow Chemical’s Mark Basset, global vp at Dow Polyurethanes - A World of change, A world of opportunity.
The exhibition was visited by people from all types of North American polyurethane including material suppliers, machinery suppliers, pu foam manufacturers and others in CASE segments.
Rothwell said some exhibitors had requested photocopying facilities for sales lead sheets and business cards after finding they were running out. She said: “It’s a sign of how much the industry has been demanding an event like this.
“The atmosphere has been brilliant,” she added.
The event is being held at the Charlotte Convention Centre in Charlotte, North Carolina. It continues, with presentations and all the booths in the exhibition hall, tomorrow until 4pm tomorrow.
