By David Reed, UT EditorLondon-By popular request, the UTECH Asia 2005 event will return to Singapore, where it will run from 12-14 April next year in the Suntec City International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Now operating on a three-year cycle, the previous UTECH Asia event was held in Shenzhen in the People's Republic of China in 2002, where it was combined with the regional PU China 2002 event. Although this was a major success, attracting almost 6000 visitors over the three days, a poll of previous UTECH Asia exhibitors selected Singapore as the preferred location for the next Asian event, in view of its superior international connections, according to the organisers: Crain Communications Ltd of London and IPI BV in Goor, the Netherlands. The UTECH Asia 2005 event will also adopt the highly successful format which is being used for the first time at the upcoming PU China 2004 event: the major exhibition will be combined with company-sponsored product seminars. This gives the sponsoring companies a chance to maximise their communication with existing and potential new customers: on their exhibition stands they can meet a wide range of visitors while, for a fee, they can make presentations about their products and services in the Product Seminars, which all exhibition visitors will be able to attend free of charge. At present, four main seminar topics are being considered: Automotive, Rigid foams, Flexible foams, and Footwear/CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers). Each will take place over a half day session, with a series of time slots being available in each session.Previous exhibitors should have already been contacted about their participation in this major event for the still-burgeoning polyurethanes business in the Asia-Pacific region, but other companies interested in exhibiting should contact the organisers: Crain Communications Ltd of London and IPI BV in Goor, the Netherlands, initially via Paul Mitchell, at Email:
