Maastricht, the Netherlands –– Simmons Engineering, a company which makes band saws blades for the polyurethane block market, is set to move locations later the summer, according to marketing manager Erin O’Brien.
Speaking on the side-lines of UTECH Europe 2015, O’Brien said the company will be moving from its location in Wheeling, Illinois to a new site at Glendale Heights, also in Illinois. The new site is 20 miles (32 km) from its existing site. “It will just about double our production area,” she said.
O’Brien said that there is the possibility of taking on more staff following the move, and that the company is currently setting up utilities on the new site so there will be a smooth transition of production from the old to the new site.
At UTECH Europe 2015, Simmons featured its Micro A contour cutting knife with an aggressive profile. The aggressive profile makes it more suitable for cutting viscoelastic foam, O’Brien said.
