Saint Priest, France – Vencorex has launched a new member of its Tolonate HDI polyisocyanate family. It has low viscosity, and is designed to enhance the flexibility of coatings.
The company said that the new F450 grade is a 100% solids material with viscosity of 450mPa.s at 25°C, and 16.3%NCO. Vencorex said that the material has been designed to help make flexible coatings dry quickly with enhanced flexibility, in applications such as concrete floors, sports floors, coatings and waterproofing.
It can be used in systems for aliphatic polyurea, polyaspartic, solvent-free/ultra-low VOC and 2K polyurethane.
Systems made with the new F450 material develops maximum hardness in about four days in a polyaspartic formulation, compared with about three days for a similar polyaspartic formulation made with a low viscosity HDI trimer. Gel time for a similar polyaspartic formulation with a fast aliphatic ester is a shade over 50 minutes, compared with a little more than 20min for a low viscosity HDI trimer in a similar formulation.
