Auckland, New Zealand - Vita New Zealand Ltd has been cleared to acquire the foam, flooring and bedding businesses of Pacific Brands, according to news reports from New Zealand (via www.scoop.co.nz).
Vita NZ, the country's largest foam manufacturer, announced in December 2007 that it wanted to buy some of the New Zealand-based assets of Australian group Pacific Brands.
The deal will cover Sleepmaker New Zealand, a bed manufacturer with plants in Auckland and Christchurch, Dunlop Flooring and Dunlop Foams, also with plants in Auckland and Christchurch.
Details of the Commerce Commission's decision will be posted on its website soon, the Scoop report said.
