Lagos, Nigeria -- Polyurethane and polyisocyanate rigid foam specialist Vitafoam plans to tackle Nigeria’s housing crisis with an eco-friendly property that can be built in just over two weeks.
Vitafoam MD Toyin Bankole is seeking to diversify with the new Green Home Prefab initiative, which will operate as a Vitafoam subsidiary under the name Vitapur Nigeria Ltd.
Bankole said: “Insulation property is the major advantage we have over other materials. Our materials are also sound-proof and are environmentally friendly.”
A two-bedroom studio could cost as little N3.65 million (EUR 17,000) under the project. According to Bankole, the Ekiti State government has requested Vitafoam build 100 homes in Abuja.
