Coimbatore, India – Footwear brand Walkaroo International opened a new production facility in Dobbaspet, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, at the end of October 2022. The Indian footwear brand was founded in 2012.
The Dobbaspet site is dedicated solely to the production of polyurethane footwear and has the capacity to produce 50,000 pairs of footwear per day. PU-based footwear has become increasingly popular in the affordable sector of the Indian footwear market.

We continue to redefine and expand the affordable footwear segment in India, besides broadening our portfolio with design technology. The addition of an exclusive PU footwear manufacturing unit in Karnataka will further strengthen our commitment to fulfil our market demand as well.”
Walkaroo operates 14 sites across the subcontinent (13 in India, one in Bangladesh). The Dobbaspet site will function as Walkaroo’s core PU footwear production house for domestic and neighbouring markets, and will strengthen Walkaroo’s access to markets in southern parts of the country.
Walkaroo – which is headquartered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu – has combined capacity to produce 500,000 pairs of PU footwear per day, and has a network of over 750 dealers, supplying 150,000 retailers across the country.
In 2022 Walkaroo International saw 20% revenue growth, reaching INR18.5 billion ($242.4 million), and it has ambitious plans to reach annual revenue of INR50 billion by 2025 by entering new markets, and expanding its portfolio of footwear products.
