Rotterdam, the Netherlands — Wanhua-BorsordChem has opened a bulk storage facility here at the LBC Tank Terminals location.
The firm said that this was to help ensure Europe has a stable supply of MDI which it manufactures in China.
The new storage is scheduled to be commissioned in July and is ‘ideally located to serve as Wanhua & BorsodChem’s regional distribution hub,’ the firm added.
In April this year, Wanhua announced that it was going to build an MDI facility in Louisiana in a move designed to make the company, which had a major plant outage in Yantai, China in autumn 2016 more resilient.
