Wanhua breaks ground on new institute
Located at the city’s Daxie Development Zone, the Institute will focus on the development of polyurethane new material, specialty isocyanates, environmental friendly surface material and high performance modified material via non-chemical synthesis, according to local authorities.
With CNY 280m ($41m) earmarked, the Institute is slated to be completed in mid 2020, said local authorities. It hopes to create over 300 utility patents within ten years with ten world class research breakthroughs.
Wanhua also plans to set up various production facilities utilizing the Institute’s technology. Such facilities are expected to successively come on stream by the end of 2021.
The projects will help build the development zone into the world’s largest production center for MDI and HDI as well as China’s largest waterborne resin production center, said local authorities.
