Yantai, Shandong – Wanhua sales over the first nine month of 2017 went up by 86% to CNY39bn ($5.9bn), according to its Q3 report released earlier in October.
Net profit over the same period jumped 212% to CNY7.8bn.
The firm's polyurethane business contributed to 57% of the total revenue with 1.37m ton production volume and 1.38m ton sales volume, said the company’s operational statement published along the report.
Petrochemical business, including liquefied petroleum gas trade, brought in 28% of the revenue. About 8% came from fine chemicals and new materials, including functional materials and specialty chemicals.
‘MDI supply was short during the period and its price was at its high end, showing a sharp increase year on year,’ said the statement.
The company said that it had almost doubled its MDI price in September compared with a year ago.
